Ken has been the Music Director of the New Groove Jazz Ensemble since 2003. The NGJE is a big band based in the northern suburbs of Brisbane. The band plays on the second Sunday of each month at Sandgate Town Hall from 2-4 pm. He plays regularly with Brisbane based Jazz group ". Held To Ransom" and is called upon to play with the Queensland Pops Orchestra's Big Band, and has toured with the QLD Pops Orchestras "Glenn Miller Tribute Band". Ken is also a member of Les Wilson's Swing Force Big Band which is based on the Gold Coast and is an augmentation member of the Brisbane Big Band
